| PVC and CPVC are two widely used compounds that are naturally flame and chemical resistant. They are inert to a wide variety of acid and bases, even at elevated temperatures. applications that require
an operating temperature of under 140° F. CPVC,
made by chlorinating PVC, is the most chemically resistant
of the two. It can be used safely up to a continuous operating
temperature of 190° F. As they are both self- extinguishing,
both PVC and CPVC are naturally UL94VO.
They are good electrical insulators. PVC is used
more widely for electrical insulation and conduit sheathing
that any other substance. Although, once hard to mold, new compounds have been introduced in recent years that facilitate injection molding. The one restriction to designing with CPVC is that it should |

| Typically
used in the computer, telecommunications and electronics industries,
captive screws fasten computer panels, removable power supplies, and
other components to a chassis. Captive screws can prevent access
hardware from being dropped, lost or misplaced during assembly,
operation and servicing.
Craftech has been manufacturing custom captive panel screws for our customers for many years. Due to increased requests, we now offer captive panel screws in over 10 head styles including knurled, pan, fillister, round, socket, flat, hex and more with either a shaft or pointed end. Available advanced plastic materials include Ultem, Polypropylene, PEEK, Delrin, PVC, PVDF, glass-filled Nylon and Vespel.
