New, Improved Hex and Flanged Hex Nuts

Craftech has rebuilt much of its tooling for nuts in order to provide molded-in threads. These threads are greatly superior to tapped threads for several reasons. First, they do not weep dust and fiber particles after first being tapped, and are therefore more suited for clean room applications. They also remain stable over time, whereas tapped nuts continue to weep particles, especially if they are in an application where they must be repeatedly tightened and loosened. This can also lead to the nuts sticking on threads to the extent that damage can result. Molded-in threads are also much more resistant to moisture, corrosives and solvents than are their tapped counterparts They also have a somewhat higher tensile strength and torque rating than do

tapped threads. Additionally, molded threads are more cost effective because they drop from the press fully formed without the need for secondary tapping and cleaning.

Our nuts and bolts are widely used in a variety of commercial applications that require such properties as strength, corrosion resistance, lower weight than metal, electric, magnetic and RFI shielding, and low thermal conductivity.

Flange Hex Nuts are available in 3/8-16, 1/2-13 and 5/8-11. Hex nuts are available in 3/8-16 and 1/2-13.

G-7 Plastic Laminate Custom Part

Exhibiting at the recent Hi Tech Expo in Milan, Craftech Industries had the opportunity to highlight its precision machined and molded plastic components. Visitors to our booth included design engineers, who expressed the need for plastics for use in their production equipment for wafers, cells, thin-film and solar modules. Component made from high temperature, corrosion, acid and chemical resistant plastics are necessary in the various PV manufacturing methods.

The show was dedicated to the most advanced technologies in:

  - Photovoltaic and PV Manufacturing
- Photonics and Optoelectronics
- Vacuum and Coating
- Nanotechnologies
- Hydrogen and Fuel Cells
Craftech understands the close relationship between materials and advancing technology. We look forward to helping you solve your tough design and engineering problems.
