| The
materials highlighted in this newsletter; PEEK/Celazole, Meldin 7000, Vespel SCP-5000 and Tecamax SRP, serve a range of industries including Aerospace, Medical, Semiconductor, Electronics and Chemical. |

thermoplastics on the market, offering excellent mechanical performance
at high temperatures up to 572°F (300°C). T-series products expand the
current mechanical and tribological capability of Victrex's existing
products with enhanced stiffness, wear, hardness and temperature
performance that are made possible with the blending of VICTREX PEEK
polymer and Celazole PBI. VICTREX T-series polymers have superior
chemical resistance and high purity, and are currently amongst the
highest performing melt processable thermoplastics for use in
applications requiring physical property retention and wear resistance
at elevated temperatures. For additional information contact VICTREX USA at 800-Victrex. |

from cryogenic through 600°F in continuous operation and in
intermittent operations at temperatures up to 900°F. A thermosetting
polyimide, MELDIN 7001 is an unfilled grade offering maximum mechanical
properties and high chemical resistance. More ductile than ceramics, and
with lighter weight than metals, MELDIN 7001 is a popular choice for
structural parts in aerospace and other applications where metal
replacement is desirable. It is ideal for electrical and thermal
insulating applications such as standoffs, insulators in electronic
components and insulators for threaded nuts. MELDIN 7021 is a
self-lubricating grade with 15% by weight graphite fillers, encapsulated
by the base polyimide resin. With its low co-efficient of friction and
high heat resistance, MELDIN 7021 provides the best all-around choice
for high temperature bearings, seals, and other low-wear applications. For additional information contact Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics at 856-423-6630. |

| manufactured by Solvay Advanced polymers, is said to provide exceptional strength, stiffness and hardness without fillers or fiber reinforcements. This, combined with its high compressive strength, one of the highest among plastics, may make it ideal for applications that have historically relied on composites and metals for superior mechanical performance. It is currently being extruded into machinable stock plastic shapes under the TECAMAX SRP tradename. Unique properties include excellent mechanical properties, remarkably high pressure resistance, higher scratch and abrasion resistance, and outstanding chemical resistance and dimensional stability. High strength is achieved without recourse to glass or other fillers which can offer paths for degradation and failure. | development of DuPont™Vespel SCP-5000, an unfilled polyimide copolymer developed for demanding applications that require toughness, thermal and dimensional stability, high purity, chemical resistance and stable dielectric performance across a broad temperature range. This product is a good candidate for applications that require high temperature and/or high wear resistance with low out gassing. Dupont states that compared to Vespel SP-1, SCP-5000 offers about 50% more strength and exceptionally greater elongation characteristics. Similar to SP-1, SCP-5000 does not melt. However, unlike SP-1, SCP-5000 has a glass transition temperature of 625°F. For additional information contact Dupont at 800-222-8377. | |||||
