Nylon
6/6
is
one of the most widely used engineering thermoplastics. It offers an
excellent combination of mechanical performance and cost. Nylon 6/6 has
good toughness, tensile strength and excellent wear properties; is a
translucent off-white color and will perform well in long-range service
in most applications at temperatures as high as 185°F, with brief
excursions to 276°F.
Glass-Filled
Nylon 6/6
has
more than double the strength and stiffness of un-reinforced Nylons.
Other improvements over un-filled Nylon include greater tensile
strength, deflection temperature, shear strength, improved creep
resistance, better dimensional stability, and lower thermal expansion.
